Center fielder Corey Patterson blasted a homerun and had 5 RBI as the SSB SSB
Tar Heels beat the Tampico Stogies by a score of 10 to 5.
Patterson enjoyed a fine day at the plate. He doubled plating two runs in the
2nd inning, lined a one-base hit in the 4th inning and smacked a three-run
homer (his 2nd of the season) in the 5th inning. SSB had 18 hits overall,
while Tampico had 10.
Kevin Brown(1-0) went 7 innings allowing 5 runs for the win. The losing
pitcher was Jerome Williams(0-1). He allowed a few too many baserunners
giving up 11 hits and 2 walks in 4 and 2/3 innings.
